I popped it out with a screwdriver the way it is designed to come out. Thanks to you tube I was able to look up the repair before attempting it. Unfortunately, I have had to replace this same part three times now. This time I took the switch apart after removing it and found that it has a serious design flaw. It would appear the switch has a very small contact point that arc's every time you open and close your fridge. The arcing causes carbon to build up which in turn causes the switch to work intermittently and then fail.
Great service and experience with AppliancePartsPro.com. Parts showed up on time. Not so happy that my over priced Kenmore Fridge needs the same part every other year.
