Not really knowing the source of the problem, I choose to replace several components.
Opening up the dryer was easy and removal of the drum is not that complicated. Replacing these parts took about 10 minutes. The igniter required a very small open end wrench to remove, but that was the most difficult of the parts to replace. The rest was very easy. The end result, my dryer works like new again ! Very happy.
