I ordered a replacement part from AppliancePartsPros. Turned off the power from the circuit box to the oven. Removed the faulty element by unscrewing the small plates that attach the element to the back wall of the oven and gently pulling it outward. It was easy to disconnect, and installing the new one was just as easy. For never having done anything like this previously, I'm proud of myself for researching and successfully accomplishing the task all by myself, and for saving a huge amount of money by not having to buy a new oven. We also now have a clean oven having taken advantage of the time the bottom element was removed!
