Replaced the main controller with the same manufacturer's part for half the cost of the retailer doing it. Easy fix. Power unplugged, replace unit wire by wire to make sure of connections. Can be done without removing the top edge cover, but if you loosen the cook top and remove the top edge cover it gives you much better access. The original repair guy from Sears said the Kenmore Elite series ranges were known to have main controller problems if the main line connections were not tight and secure which leads to burned leads and board failure. Works good now!
