Robert W Pembroke Pines , FL January 09, 2016 Appliance: Model MEDB850WQO Maytag bravos dryer f73 error code Power outage caused dryer to stop working. The power tripped for 15 seconds and the dryer started “beeping”. It was showing fault code F:73. I cleared the code and attempted to start the dryer. Power comes on to the panel, I can rotate the knob to any selection, all lights come on except the amount of time per selection. I can add time, but the default amount does not show. When I press start, it beeps, but nothing happens. I checked 240V at the outlet and continuity with the thermal fuses. Everything checks OK. The Maytag Tech Sheet recommends for fault codes F:72-F:78 to replace the console electronics. SOLUTION: I purchased and replaced the control panel part# W10336131 (AP4701289) because the time did not automatically display when the power was turned on even though I could add time and that time did display. The new panel fixed the problem – in order to install it, I had to use the base of the existing panel because I could not figure how to get it off the console. 14 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
