I saved the screws and plate. I ordered the handle after putting up with months of no handle. We had been grasping the bottom of the door to open it, but I was concerned we would tweak the door and have to buy more parts to fix an obsolete over the stove microwave. Parts get harder to find!! I was so happy to find the handle we needed and it did not cost $80! Once the handle arrived (lickety split!!) I replaced it. It took hubby awhile to notice, and the teens were excited. Yeah, we're that kind of family...excited over little things and grateful!
