I took the Control Panel out after reading comments about how they become faulty after the ribbon cable gets corroded by the moisture of the dishwaher. I noticed corrosion on mine, so I tried to lead the corrosion but you have to be SUPER careful as I quickly learned that you can easily go through the ribbon cable too far without realizing rendering the entire control panel useless.
I ordered and replaced the control panel. Before I buttoned everything up I wanted to test out the appliance. It still wasnt working. I found out that the latch on my dishwasher was pushed in, I believe this was the culprit the entire time. I pulled the latch back out and locked it into place. I replaced teh control panel anyways since I had it, and the old one was damaged by me (trying to fix it).
As a preventative measure, I gooped liquid electrical tape on the connection points on the ribbon connector and after that dried a bit I wrapped electrical tape. HOpefully, I wont have any issues with the control panel in the future.
NOTE: CHECK TO SEE THAT YOUR DISHWASHER LATCHES PROPERLY!!!
Also - you need a TORX screwdriver specifically
