I ordered the door strike for the Maytag MHW8000AG0 and then used a block of HDPE plastic and a drawer child safety latch/hook to craft a "block" that plugs into the door strike and firmly holds the door open approx 5 inches. Maytag recommends the door be left open after use to allow the drum & seals to dry out to prevent mildew or mold growth.
