I began by turning off the breaker. I then removed the screws securing the bake element. I immediately noticed only one side was wired and the other side was burned off. The wire for the burned off section had fallen through the hole in the back of the oven. I tried fishing it out to no avail. I removed two side trim screws, the side trim pieces, and two screws holding the built-in oven into the wall. I was able to slide the oven out and onto a square stool that was the correct height. I removed the back plate and had complete access to the electrical components. I could see the missing wire for the bake element, removed what was left of the burned section, and inserted it back in the hole. While I had access, I checked the thermal fuse and the oven temperature sensor with an ohm meter. I decided to replace them since they were 25 years old. I could not find the parts needed locally so I checked two places on-line. Both places were about the same total price but Appliance Parts Pros guaranteed that they would be shipped the same day and arrive the next day. I placed the order and they were shipped almost immediately from Louisville, KY. FedEx delivered the parts the next day in Texas, I installed them in about 20 minutes and slid the oven back in place. I flipped on the breakers and my wife made me some cookies. Everything worked perfectly! I could have ordered aftermarket parts from Amazon at a greatly reduced price, but I wanted OEM parts. I am extremely happy with the superb service from Appliance Parts Pros. I will definitely buy from them again.
