Bill L Sunnyvale , CA September 06, 2015 Appliance: Model WHIRLPOOL RDE2300W2 Oven bake element failed The oven element wouldn't turn on. Visibly, you could see just a tiny spot on the element that glowed when power was turned on. There was a break in the element at that point with just a hair's breath of continuity. Looked up the oven model on the website. Ordered the part. Unscrewed the old element, pulled it slightly forward to disconnect the power wires, slipped in the new element and screwed it all back in place. Turned on the oven and it worked like a champ. The element emitted an odor as manufacturing residues burned off, but it only lasted a moment. Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
