I ordered a new element from AppliancePartsPros.com which came quickly. After reviewing some Youtube videos on the task and shttuing off the circuit breaker and verifying there was no power at the range, I tried to replace it by working from inside the oven. The connecting wires were not easy to pull into the oven and one disconnected and was caught in the insultation.
As a result I had to pull the range out and work from the back and remove the rear panel which exposed al of the wiring. I then installed the element in the oven and reconnected the wiring, replaced the back and verifed it was working before pushing it back in palce (after cleaning all of the debri which collects under and behind a range over 8 years of use!)
This saved me several hundred dollars for the repair call.
