I ordered the 8 inch Haliant Element from Appliance Parts Pro with overnight shipping (I needed to have it working for Easter weekend!) and it arrived when promised and in perfect condition!
To replace, you need a couple of boards longer than the stove is wide to hold the stove above the counter. You will also need a T15 Torx head on a handle or socket wrench. It also helps to have some pliers, and a second person to slip the boards under and out from the stove when you lift it.
First, shut off the power to the stove then (if they are installed) remove the screws from the straps underneath the stove inside the cabinet (one on each side). Also remove any pots and pans from the cabinet below the stove since there might be some crumbs that slipped under the edge and could drop in (saves washing).
Lift the unit above the counter, have that second person set the boards under the stove, then set it on the boards. Remove the Torx head fasteners all around (top most fasteners, really short). Also remove all of the control knobs from the glass top surface on the right. The glass top lifts off, although the rubber grommets around the control rods that are sticking up will drag a bit and you may have to gently pry the right side between the glass top and the metal base to get it started.
Once the top is removed note which wire goes to which connector on the element, then remove all wires (this is where the pliers might come in handy to help grip and pull). Remove the old element, flip it over and note where the two triangle brackets are located (there are numbers on the back of the burner ... my brackets were at 12 and 45). Remove these brackets and install them into the same numbers on the new burner.
Connect all the wires on the same connectors, then set the new burner back into the base with the holes on the brackets on the spring posts in order to properly locate it.
Reinstall the glass top, fasteners, and knobs. Lift the stove and have your helper remove the boards, then set the unit back onto the counter and reattach the straps underneath (again, if you have them).
Turn on the power to the stove and try it out!
