Chester M Essex , MD April 15, 2014 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator GSS22JEMBCC Ge Refrigerator Gss22jembcc: Refridger stopped running. How to replace Board, Dispenser. Replaced the main circuit board , it was burnt at a relay . Then the dispenser board had no lights and would not dispense ice , replaced that board . I had been having trouble with dispensing ice , especially cursed ice , the motor would not turn to crush the ice . The solenoid for cubed ice was noisy . Ordered the solenoid and motor for the auger . To remove the motor it takes a special socket for the nut on the shaft , I used a 17/32 socket , the nut has reversed threads . It fit the nut very well , removed the nut . The new motor had a different bolt pattern for mounting , one hole was different . I bolted a piece of thin cardboard to the motor with two bolts , marked the third hole . Bolted the motor and cardboard to the mounting panel and marked the third hole . Drilled the third hole , mounted the motor and the solenoid , installed the nut with the 17/32 socket , the nut must be tight . Installed the unit in the freezer . Freezer and refrigerator are cold , dispenses water , cubed and crushed ice . I had more trouble finding technical information on what and how to check out what was wrong . I spoke to two technicians on the phone . They were extremely helpful and knew what the were talking about . They helped me a lot . 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours
