Tried to hire a local "Pro" using Thumbtack. Turns out most of the "Pros" on Thumbtack are people who can't get a full time job at a reputable repair shop and don't know what they're doing. The Thumbtack "Pro" wanted to replace all THREE boards on my frig at a cost of $500+ confirming again and again that all THREE boards need to be replaced.
In ONE 5 minute chat with AppliancePartsPros.com described the problem, got recommendation to replace one $90 board, replaced the board myself and FIXED. Maybe 15 minutes total of my time and saving of over $400.
Not only did I save HUGE amount of money it was very satisfying being able to so easily repair my own appliance.
Not trying to plug AppliancePartsPros.com but they did save me from being scammed $400+. It's not just issue of money but of pride also.
