New temperature sensor on the evaporator was just was it needed. Google is a wonderful thing. I found the problem online along with a detailed description of how to diagnose the problem and replace the bad part, and where to get the part along with the part number. What I was worried would end up with buying a new fridge ended up just defrosting the freezer (and there was a lot of it behind the panel on the evaporator), cutting 2 wires and connecting the new sensor. The long part was defrosting. It took longer to put everything back together than to replace the part. The directions I found recommended a crimp connector for the part (which would probably be fine), but I decided to solder it instead. Ended up being an extremely easy fix and the fridge works better than it has in a while. Now if I could just figure out how to keep the water despenser from freezing up...
