Laura B North Babylon , NJ October 21, 2016 Replace thermostat in old range After 20 years of flawless service my gas range needed repair: the thermostat. I viewed GE's DYI repair video. Its a very easy repair that should have taken 20 minutes but it took us forever because we couldn't get the oven sensor to snake into the oven chamber. The angle was too acute. Eventually we figured out a solution. (also we proceeded a bit slow because we're not used to doing repairs. took pics along the way so we didn't forget what goes where) Because my range is so old, AppliacePartsPros didn't have the EXACT part but sold me something very close. We had to change a few of the existing connectors in the range to fit the new thermostat. Not an issue. Oven is working fine! Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours
