When new and clean, our Samsung has been a joy, but after two years it started to stop in mid-cycle and display flashing trouble lights. Come to find out, the mechanism for measuring water level is a float chamber on the side of the machine that has a tendency to load up with detritus. The first time I took everything apart, I broke one of the two ears on a hold down in the tub that positions the lower wash arm.
Turn out it goes in two ways and if installed upside down, tightening the fastener results in an ear snapping off. Grrrr. Well at least it works with one ear holding it in place.
Had to go in again a few weeks ago to clean the float chamber again, and upon reassembly, put the subject part in upside down again and broke off the other ear (duh).
Was able to Rube Goldberg a fix until my special order, $3 replacement arrived from my good friends at Applaince Parts Pros. Thanks guy and gals!
Next time I'll make pictures! :)
All the best.
