Steven B Murray , UT December 10, 2021 A short in the heating element My oven quit working, but once I figured out that the problem was a short in the heating element, I watched several online videos on how to replace the element. It seemed simple enough, so I ordered a replacement element, which arrived in good time. From there it was a matter of switching off the circuit, unscrewing the element from the rear of the oven, disconnecting the terminals, then reattaching the terminals to the new element. I then screwed the new element into the rear of the oven, replaced the racks, and it was done. Don't know how much I saved by doing it myself, but it was a simple fix. The lesson here: online videos can show you how to fix a lot of stuff yourself. Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
