Andrew S Dayton , OH May 30, 2015 Spider arm corroded My spider arm was corroded/broken and needed replacement. Videos were excellent and easy to follow. The bolts from the spider arm go into metal inserts in the plastic portion of the lifter arms. Bottom line is the bolt heads had to be cut off and the lifter arms replaced in order to accommodate the new bolts. New lifter arms do not come with roller balls so I recycled my old outer shell of the lifter assembly (with roller balls) and everything went back together nicely. Don't waste time trying to loosen the old bolts. Just cut the heads off and get new lifter arms. That will save you a lot of time and effort and ensure you have strong anchors for the new spider arm. 6 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours
