The most difficult part of this repair is removing and re-installing the dish washer. Without knowing what part failed and wanting the dishwasher unavailable for the shortest time possible I ordered springs and lanyards for both sides. If I could do it over, I would only order the lanyards as they are made of nylon cord and the likely failure point. I think it is very unlikely the the springs would ever fail. Once the unit is removed the side covers come off easily and provides open access to the spring/lanyard mechanism. Only one of the two lanyards failed but I replaced them both and would recommend doing so to anyone making this repair.
