I read that this is normally a thermistor error. I purchased a new thermistor from AppliancePartsPros.com but it didn't fix the problem. I then ordered the main control board (~$170) but then I read that if this error occurs while your choosing your cycle, the error is with this control module. Apparently, the main control board and the thermistor aren't used until you begin a cycle. My "tE"error code appeared while I was choosing a cycle. I was able to quickly cancel my order for a main control board and instead order this control module and it solved the problem.
