Robert H Pittsford , NY January 28, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Electric Range JVB37H1BB Ge Hood Jvb37h1bb: Telecsoping downdraft range vent would not move up or down. How to replace Control Board. Took the unit apart, under the counter that it was housed in. Found that the drive arm off of the gear motor had fallen off. I recovered it and re-attached it. However in testing it, I had to run the motor to get the drive in proper position under the retracted hood. It fell off a fixture I had rigged to hold it, and, since it was powered, had the control board short out, destroying it and the membrane swithch on top of the hood. I got the parts and finished the repair job. The biggest hassle was the confined space under the cabinet that housed the range and range vent. It caused all the problems, not the technical issues of what was wrong and how to repair it. 14 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours
