I watched a few video's online to see how others had fixed it, then I tried to do research on the element part number. Appliance Parts Pro's were very helpful. I had to submit my model number off the stove/oven and a very helpful Customer service rep named Dannette from APP sent my pictures to their research dept. The first try was not an exact match since my oven is much older, but upon a little more research on the internet by me, I determined the correct replacement part number. Dannette was helpful in the return of the close but not a match part, and she and the research department found the part for us. She emailed me with the news that she had one in stock, and I proceeded to buy it. The replacement was easy. We moved out the stove/oven and unplugged it. Took off the back of the electric oven and found the wire leads with clips holding top and bottom elements. We removed the contact clips from the element ( from the back) and emptied the oven including racks and sides for better access. two screws to remove the element from the oven back... one screw and removal of the front support bracket and pulled gently on the broken element. It pulled away from the oven easily. The replacement broil element slid in, We secured it to the back of the oven, replaced the front support bracket and screw... and walked to the back of the oven and exposed the contact points of the element through the insulation of the stove. We reattached those power clips to the new element after cleaning dust or insulation from them, I checked all connections to make sure they were fully attached. One thing I also did was to replace the bottom element at the same time since they were both the same age. Checked all my connections one more time, then reattached the back of the oven with no leftover parts. walking to the front of the oven, I replaced all the racks and sides... ' went back to the back of the oven to plug it into the power plug, and slid the oven back into place. I carefully checked for proper operation of the oven and stove top. The new elements gave off a few whispers of smoke but no bad smells, and I let it heat up to 300 degrees on preheat to check the broil element, and then bake setting to let it work itself in properly for 35 minutes. Baked chicken last night, and all is well. It was an easy repair once you begin, and it took this novice about an hour plus fifteen minutes for both elements.
