My dryer, Whirlpool WED5605MW0, does not have a convenient front access panel to get to the heating element like the dryers in all the repair videos I found. I had to remove the whole front panel by first removing the door and the control panel, but access to the heating section was still difficult. I then removed the rear panel and the short portion of ducting on the rear of the appliance from the heating section to the drum, then disconnected the heating section mounting bracket from the front of the dryer and removed the whole heating duct which allowed me to replace the heating element, thermal fuse and high limit easily on my workbench. I didn't test which component was faulty, instead I just replaced all parts while I had the heating section out and accessible. There wasn't anything particularly difficult about the repair, just a lot of time spent turning the wrench to open both panels. Keep track of which screws go to which panel because they're slightly different lengths. The dryer door on this model contains star-head bolts
