Appliance parts pro DIY video clips extremely useful.
I recently purchased this home and like DIY projects if the repair isn't too difficult. In the end I save on costly labor fees and it's more rewarding to fix it myself.
I have an ice and washer dispenser on the outside of my refrigerator and wanted to use it. When I first looked at the home there was a sign posted next to the refrigerator "Do not turn on water valve, leak under the refrigerator". It was an "as is" property. My agent checked out the frig and told me it was the valve. I figured I could attempt the repair myself. After ordering a new valve and actually looking underneath the frig myself, I realized when turning on the water it was leaking from another location. Found a video clip to show how to repair a water filter housing unit on appliance parts pro. I returned the unused valve and order the housing unit. It arrived the next day. I compared the physical appearance of the old unit to the new one. It was identical so I knew it was the right part. (Ordered the wrong type previously and returned it. ) one of the Rings where you connect the water tubed was missing on the old unit which is what probably caused the leak.
I followed the steps in the video from this site for changing the housing unit. Turned on the water, no leaks. Tested the water dispenser on the front of the refrigerator... IT'S WORKING! !!!
I'm a very feminine mid-30s woman who doesn't mind getting her hands dirty (but wears gloves to avoid damaging my salon style finger nails. .lol) if it's a project I can handle. This was very easy. I have small hands, and was able to reach about midway into the tight area to push in the ring to release the water tubes. That was the hardest part.....
