David J Birmingham , AL February 06, 2015 Appliance: Model 110.18202790 Violent shaking during spin cycle I found that the balance ring had popped loose from the top of the inner metal tub and had been scored so that the fluid was leaking out. So, I removed the metal shell of the washer, then the top plastic cover over the outer tub. I pulled out the old part and put on the new one. I had to give it a pretty good push downward to engage the clips and get it fully seated. I ran my hand along the inside of the metal tub to feel that the new balance ring was fully seated. I also used a short level to make sure the frame was level. This is a good time to adjust it with the case off. It seems to be working great now. The repair took about 30 minutes of actual work time but two days to get the part ordered and received. The shipping was quick, ordered on Sunday night and received the part on Tuesday. The first one was damaged but Appliance Parts Pros has 24/7 customer service so they shipped another one out on Wednesday and I received it Thursday. Overall a good experience and way, way cheaper than having a repair service call. 22 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
