With the door front off, during the drying cycle you could see drops of water ennng down the exhaust, dripping on the floor. The design allows for some water but not the amount we were seeing. Replacing the complete assembly fixed the problem. I took apart the old vent assembly and found it slightly warped and the cool air fan which pulls air into the vent assembly had significant dust, dirt and cat hair. This is likely the major issue since it reduced the cool air flow changing the dynamics of the vent assembly design. There is no way to non-destructively clean that fan. The authorized appliance rep would have charged $175 for part and installation. A bunch of screws and to wire clips is all the work to change it. Took 20 min and the part cost $75 plus shipping. You will need a t10 socket head to pull the door screws.
