Description

This magnetron is the microwave's high-voltage tube that produces the microwave energy used to heat food. Replacing a failing magnetron restores proper heating so the oven cooks and reheats reliably. What it does:

• Generates the microwave energy that penetrates and heats food
• Symptoms it commonly addresses: oven runs but doesn't heat, very weak heating, or intermittent heating
• Can cause unusual noises or burning/arc-like sounds if failing
• Works with the high-voltage circuit to convert electrical energy into microwaves

• Disconnect power at the breaker and before beginning work
• The high-voltage capacitor can retain a dangerous charge; discharge it safely
