Thomas G Bellport , NY July 11, 2015 Appliance: Model KS15L10-D Friedrich room ac (ks15l10 d)fan motor not working Took 4 hours (If I have to do it again, I probably could get in done in 2 hours) The outside portion of Fan motor shaft was all rusted Removed inside blower wheel from inside shaft (5/32 hex) Used hack saw, cut rear shaft removed rear shroud pop old shaft from outside fan blade removed back support from backside of fan removed old fan motor take new motor place through back support (loosely) place back fan blade on to outside shaft of fan motor push fan motor and back support through outside fan shroud place shroud into place and use a couple of screws to hold it loosely in place push inside fan shaft into inside blower wheel install back support spin blower wheel (make sure no obstructions inside or outside portions of fan motor) tighten all screws in place Read More...
