Steve W Henderson , NV September 18, 2014 Actuator on ice and water dispenser broken The part or else the dispenser is not well made. The actuator needs to pivot and drop into a slot after seating the opposite end. But the actuator bar hits a rib on the dispenser that keeps your from pushing the bar in with the other end seated. And that is the only way to put it in. I ended up using a dremel and reworking the rib so that it allowed the bar to pass and seat. The part is also very poorly made. The end of the Actuator bar with the switch is not one piece. It is somehow welded or glued on. Before I knew the problem with the parts, I applied light finger pressure to seat the bar and the end just came off. AppliancePartsPros promptly replaced the part. Kudos to them.Once I removed the ridge, the part seated correctly and is working fine. This explains why the original was bent when I took it out. Read More...
