Description
This ice auger drives and feeds ice from the ice maker/bin toward the dispenser so your refrigerator can deliver ice reliably. It replaces a worn or damaged auger to restore proper ice movement and help prevent jams. What it does:
- Rotates inside the ice bin or dispenser housing to move ice toward the outlet.
- Works with the auger motor and drive components to enable ice dispensing.
- Common symptom: ice dispenser motor runs but little or no ice is delivered.
- Common symptom: ice jams or broken fins on the auger that prevent smooth feeding.
What's included: One ice auger. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the refrigerator before beginning any work.
- Remove ice bin and any surrounding trim to access the auger; follow your model's service instructions.
- Inspect mating gears and the auger motor for wear; replace damaged components as needed.
- Reassemble carefully, restoring power and testing the dispenser with small amounts of ice.
