Ethan C Sabetha , KS April 03, 2016 Appliance: Model ELECTROLUX FRA186MT2 Window air conditioner suddenly stopped cooling During inspection I found that the compressor start capacitor was burned and it burned one of the wires off. We have a lot of power outages in our area and my guess is a power surge caused the capacitor to fail. I replaced the capacitor and the unit now cools. The capacitor is difficult to get to.
