Well the range was only 5 years old and there was a recall around the time of purchase I wasn't aware of for the exact problem - elements turning on by themselves etc. regardless Sears insisted that it wasn't the same issue. After numerous screwups by Sears Repair in changing appointment times, they finally assessed issue and they claimed they had never seen this problem before. Part back ordered however until September 2014 at least. We've had to turn range on/off at breaker to use because of unsafe issue. I looked up the part on AppliancePros and they got it to me in a few weeks ( minor manufacturer delay). Changed out the switch in 10 minutes and range works now as it should! TIP: take a few photos of the existing plugged in wiring to the old switch prior to replacing. Makes it far quicker.
