Gary L El Segundo , CA May 15, 2016 Appliance: Model FRIGIDAIRE PLMV169DCD Microwave would cut out w no power intermittently display was fading and not always working After some research i diagnosed that it was possibly a control board going bad from some power outages over time. first i opened the panel to check if any of the plugs into it were loose and it worked for a while then eventually just cut out. ordered the part and then unhooked all plugs from the control board. this requires removing the filter hood to view the screw securing the control board. ALWAYS UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE first. the control board capacitor still contains a considerable amount of voltage even when unplugged so take care as to what you touch. made sure all the plugs went to their respective receptacles and i took photos of the connections for reference on putting things back. be careful not to just tug on the wires as this could detach them from their plugs. now the display is back and it works like a champ again with no problems. Daniel E Taylorsville , NC May 01, 2015 Appliance: Frigidaire Microwave PLMV169DCD Work area light and night light operation My first shot at correcting the problem was to replace the touch pad. This repair was temporary and I found myself back at my original problem. I called Appliance Parts Pros and spoke with a technician. He indicated that my problem was associated with the control board. The light relays can not be replaced. You must replace the control board. Since the touch pad was not the problem, he said I should return it for credit toward the purchase of a replacement control board. Unfortunately, I had disposed of the old touch pad and could not retrieve the old touch pad. I was also told that parts have a one year replacement guarantee. I ordered and replaced the control board. Everything is working properly now. Thank You Appliance Parts Pros for all your Help and information.
