Average price around $10.00. The Frigidaire tech data sheet said if the resistance of the PTC was shorted or opened, then replace the door lock assembly ($50 +). It also said that if the PTC reads around 1500 ohms, then replace the control board ($120+). I figured out that you are to test the resistance on the Wax Motor. My Wax Motor read 2200 ohms which is higher that the specs. So I decided to test the Wax Motor; I applied 120v to the Wax Motor and it slowly engaged; then disengaged after around 90 secs. It appeared to be working okay. However, after reading the resistance again, the resistance decrease to around 1200 ohms. Since the readings were intermittent, I elected to purchase an new Wax Motor. That fixed the problem. Replacing the door lock assembly would have fixed the problem as well, but would have been more expensive. Read More...
