Frigidaire 131279001 Door Latch OEM Part

Replaced old latch with a new one.

Thought it might be the supply valve failed, but discovered the door latch was cracked in half. When removed (two phillips screws), it fell into 3 parts. New part fit perfectly (only difference was the color), and washing machine works fine now. NOTE: the part ordered does not include the screws, so hold on to the originals. Thanks AppliancePartsPros! Local parts shop would have taken 1 1/2 weeks. Worth the few extra $ to get shipped in a couple of days!

Stunned at how fast this part arrived...within 24 hours !!! Must admit to bragging about this event. I, who usually calls "help" replaced the new latch in about 10 minutes ! Can't stop thinking about how much money and time was saved, not having to wait for a repairperson. Thanks to Appliance Parts Pros, this grandma got the job done.

My wife convinced me to investigate repairs to the washer first. After reviewing a couple of comments that were pretty much identical to mine, I ordered a simple plastic latch for $38 (inc tax and shipping). After a ten-minute swap out, the washer worked as if it were brand new. That was it: so simple I really couldn’t believe it. Moral of the story: Don’t assume obsolescence just because something has aged a bit, do your research on alternatives first.
