Anthony C Santa Fe , NM May 21, 2016 Appliance: Frigidaire Range FFEF3048LSK Element not heating on electric stove Replaced the element. 1st- Turn off the power to the appliance. The cook top is held on with two screws - access the screws by opening the oven door. Cooktop is hinged, so just pull up near oven door and hold in place with, say, a three foot long stick. The elements are held in place by bracket attached to the cooktop. Remove the bracket by removing the two socket screws. The element is aligned to the bracket with three locking tabs. Remove the tabs with pliers. I broke off one the locking pieces which is part of the tab. The locking piece is not essential since the tabs are used only for alignment. Unscrew each tab and relocate to new element in the same numbered spot found on both the old and new elements. Remove each electric connector - one by one so you locate the removed connector in the exact location on the new element as on the old. Make sure electric connectors are secure. Install new element in same location as old element. Install all removed screws. Done. Everette P Grand Prairie , TX September 03, 2017 Appliance: Frigidaire Range FFEF3048LSM The large surface element switch has bad and the connection wire was shorting out I replaced the large surface element first before examining the switch. Luckily, I had a new contact to rewire the wiring as the old was burnt badly. After cutting it out and connecting a new one and replacing the switch the problem was fixed.
