Pete B Sussex , WI July 24, 2016 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator GLHS69EHPW1 Split door gasket broken hinge bearing and broken front roller assembly Our side-by-side refrigerator had a split door seal, a broken hinge bearing, and a broken front roller assembly. Luckily these repairs used the same tools and required the removal of the same parts since they all occurred on the frig side. We started by emptying the refrigerator and freezer and removing the frig door. The old door gasket was easy to remove, but it did require substantial pressure to install the new one. Just be sure to put a blanket or cardboard down so you do not damage the door's finish. The hinge bearing was another matter given the way it broke. It was very easy to replace once the old one had been extracted, in other words we had to destroy what remained inside the door. The new one slid right into place. The on-line videos provide an accurate representation of what you can expect. The front roller assembly had to be returned and reordered and will comment once installed. The biggest problem is that we already had the refrigerator empty and one door removed, so it was considerably lighter. Will have to repeat this so as to be able to tip the refrigerator and access the adjustable roller. Will not take as long since we now know what to expect. I am happy to say, emptying the appliance takes as much time as the repairs do. Read More... My unit had one front screw and two bottom screws, a bit different than the one in the video that had only one front screw. In all it took about twenty minutes. Read More...
