Greg S Springfield , VA January 13, 2017 Appliance: Frigidaire Dishwasher FDBB2865FC0 The normal wash button would not light up and activate the wash program all other buttons were ok I ordered a new Membrane Switch or "Insert" p/n:154483503. To install, the black panel housing to the control board needs to be opened up for access. Turn off power. It is accessed by removing 6 screws that attach the panel to the door and another 2 screws that attach the stainless steel panel to the door. Be ready to support the door when the SS panel and black panel come apart! Next remove the screws to the control board cover. With the control board exposed, remove the old membrane switch plastic ribbon cable from the control board connector. Next slowly peel away the old plastic membrane switch (Insert) from the black panel - an Xacto knife helps to get it started. After removing the insert and cable, clean the old glue residue from the black panel surface in preparation for the new insert. I used lacquer thinner, but GoofOff or something similar might be better. Carefully remove the backing paper from the new insert and insert the ribbon cable through the slot - carefully pull it so the new insert is almost touching the black panel. Now working from right to left, carefully press the insert down making sure the ribbon cable is not folded over, kinked or binding. That ribbon cable could easily be damaged. After the entire insert is pressed down, install the ribbon cable to the control board connector. Reattach the control board cover, the black panel and the SS cover to the door. Turn on power and enjoy a new looking dishwasher with all the options available at your fingertips! Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
