Description

This magnetron is the high-voltage microwave source used in countertop and over-the-range ovens to heat food. Replacing a failed magnetron restores the oven's ability to generate microwave energy for cooking. What it does:

• Generates microwave energy that heats and cooks food inside the oven cavity.
• Commonly needed when the oven runs but does not heat, or heating is very weak.
• May be replaced if you hear loud buzzing, intermittent heating, or experience arcing/sparking inside the cavity.
• Works with the oven's high-voltage circuit and waveguide to distribute microwaves evenly.
