Thomas K Port Hadlock , WA April 04, 2016 Appliance: Frigidaire Range FEF366ECE Replace range top as it was cracked The range top is super easy to replace. One screw/nut up front (you have to open the oven door to get to it) and the top tilted up. 4 screws/nuts holding the burners in place. Be careful as they are spring loaded to hold them against the glass and once the screw/nut is loose, it has a tendency to pop out and drop down the side of the range where you can't get them. Swap over the back alignment tabs and the front screw down plate and then install. Having someone hold the range top up made detaching and reattaching the burners easier and helped me not lose the screws/nuts. Most of my time was cleaning up the gunky food/grease that accumulates in the cracks and on the front screw down plate. In a pinch, the back plate of the controls uses the same screw/nuts and can be used if you lose burner attachment screws/nuts. Phyllis W Apex , NC July 07, 2015 Appliance: Frigidaire Range FEF366EMD Cooktop was chipped and cracked Ordered a New cooktop from AppliancePartsPros.com. We have never done anything like this repair before but after reading reviews decided to try it. It did take us a little longer than some of the other folks, but being seniors and eyesight not as good as it used to be, it just took a little longer and our trusty iphone light to see what we were doing. But, we did replace the top successfully. First, we took the new top out of the box and laid it on a flat surface (countertop). Then on the cracked top, We removed the screws under the front lip of the frame, lifted up and pulled forward slightly the stove top to which the burners were attached. We then took the screws out of the two burner channels(you will see what we mean when you lift up the top), and laid them gently down so that we could remove the top while watching how it went in as we removed it. Next, be sure and place the two clips from the rear of the old cooktop onto the new one. We positioned the new top over the stove so that we could reattach the burners by the channels - making sure we lined them up properly, and replaced the screws in the channels. Then lining the top up with the stove, making sure the clips at the back were in place in the appropriate slots, we laid it down making sure the front edge of the cooktop lined up on top of the metal plate with the holes in it for the front screws to be reattached. Then reattach and it's done! We were proud of ourselves! Make sure they all work! Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
