I replaced the old housing and it works great now. I never did find any visible damage on the old one but the new one doesn’t leak. I’m super happy about that... H N La Quinta , CA May 13, 2015 Appliance: Model FRIGIDAIRE MOD#FRS6LR5EB6 Frigidaire water filter leaking due to bad o ring gasket ORDERED NEW O-RING FROM APPLIANCE PARTS PROS WHICH ARRIVED WITHIN 3 DAYS. TAKING OUT THE OLD GASKET TOOK A SCREWDRIVER, LETTER OPENER, KNIFE AND NEEDLE NOSED PLIERS. ALTHOUGH THE MANUAL SAID TO ONLY HAND TIGHTEN, MY FILTER STILL LEAKED VERY BADLY INTO THE REFRIGERATOR, SO I USED A JAR OPENER STRAP TO TURN ONE MORE TURN (I HAD COUNTED THE TURNS WITHOUT THE NEW FILTER IN THE CUP, SO I KNEW HOW MANY IT WOULD TAKE). NOW IT DOES NOT LEAK.......SO FAR SO GOOD ANYWAY. WAY MORE TROUBLE THAN I THOUGHT, BUT FINALLY WITHOUT WATER LEAKING INTO MY REFER. Read More...
