Darcia P Amityville , NY June 11, 2018 The overlay was melted from the heat from the steam when using very large pots. The clock/timer stop working. Mark P Groton , CT November 30, 2019 Appliance: Frigidaire Electric Range GLEFZ389HCC "Runaway" oven temperature Searched online for the error code displayed on the range along with the model number. Results indicated it was either the control board or the thermostat. Tested the thermostat with an ohmmeter, the reading was good so problem pointed to the control board. Ordered the control board (and overlay), and for good measure, a thermostat. Unplugged the stove and removed screws for top panel and range back. The thermostat was held in by one screw and was connected by one plug; very easy to replace. The control board was held in by 4 screws and was connected by a few plugs. I placed the overlay on the control board before installation. I unplugged/plugged one at a time so there was no confusion. Reinstalled back panels and tested the stove. Worked great! The best thing about the repair was getting the parts expediently from appliance parts pro. The oven failed on Sunday before Thanksgiving so I started looking immediately and found this site. Finding the parts were easy and their cost was less than a few other sites I checked. I got the parts on Tuesday and repaired. The true test was roasting a 22 lb turkey and the fixings in the recently-repaired oven. Read More... David B Clinton , MS December 14, 2014 Appliance: Frigidaire Gas Range PLGFMZ96ECE Pf11 code on display stove would not turn on Over time the adhesive that is used to stick the face plate to the electronics part melts from the heat of the stove and seeps into the touch pad areas. I peeled off the original face place, having to use a razor blade to gently scrape it off where it had completely melted to the electronics part. I then removed the backing on the new face plate, lined it up with the touch pads and display cutout and applied using light pressure to adhere the two together. Read More...
