George P Red Bank , NJ November 21, 2014 Appliance: Frigidaire Gas Range PLCS389DCB Cracked panel glass inner oven door Opened oven door to the fully opened position. Pulled up the the lock located on both hinge supports and engaged it in the hook of the hinge levers. You may need to apply a little downward pressure on the door to pull the locks fully over the hooks. In addition, you may need to use a flat head screwdriver to "help" engage the hinge locks over the hook. Hold the door securely on both sides (not the door handle). Pulled the bottom of the door up and toward me to disengage the hinge supports. Kept pulling the bottom of the door toward me while rotating the top of the door toward the range to completely disengage the hinge levers. The entire oven door and hinges were then separated from the oven box. I placed a soft work blanket over a dinette table and placed the oven door flat (frontside down) on top with the handle positioned over the edge of the "worktable". Removed the phillips screws fastening the outer glass metal trim to the inside door assembly. Cleaned and staged the stainless steel door trim with handle for later reassembly. Removed and cleaned (e.g. oven cleaner) outer glass pane, removed next series of phillips head screws from inside metal trim and assembly. Removed and cleaned glass pane No. 2. Removed 3rd series of phillips head screws from box spacer assembly. Carefully lifted, removed and disposed inside cracked glass. (Used letter sized paper to diagram oven door screw and trim positions for later reassembly.) Ronald R Vienna , VA January 28, 2017 Appliance: Frigidaire Gas Range PLCS389CCB Inner oven door glass broken had to replace it Big kudos to a previous reviewer that explained how to lock the door hinges and lift the door off the stove. That was very helpful. Who knew there are actually 3 panes of inner door glass. They are all the same piece of glass, same part number - AP2127654. To begin just start removing screws. Make sure you keep track of what screws go where. There are three on top of the door with semi-flattened heads, three rounded head screws on the bottom. Next, you have 6 screws that hold a metal frame on for one pane of glass, 4 of which are upper left & right, lower left & right, with 2 more center aligned, one of the center aligned holds attaches a very small bracket to the frame. Finally, there are 4 more screws that hold two side brackets for another pane of glass. So 16 screws total disassemble the door to get to the inner most glass pane. Again, keep track of which screws go where because they are different types and lengths of screws. While you disassemble the door you'll find the inner two panes of glass. One of these was filthy with baked on grease, the other was almost clean. You'll want to thoroughly clean the grease off the other two unbroken panes. Then simply reverse your disassembly process to put it together again and the door will look good as new. You don't want to hire somebody to do this because you'll want to clean those inner glass panes and probably take the opportunity to clean the inner door and the bottom of the door that you usually can't get to when it's on the stove. No point in paying somebody by the hour to watch you clean all that stuff before the door goes back together and back on the stove. This is one job you can do yourself, with a single phillips head screwdriver. Keith M Garden Prairie , IL March 05, 2016 Power went out to the control board so that both ovens were down also one of the ovens had a crack on the inside glass of the upper oven I ordered a new control board with transformer. I was able to pull the oven part way out of the wall and by working from the top, was able to remove the metal access plate exposing the rear defective board. The rest was easy. The glass was accesses from the front, bottom screws and side screws. It was easily than I thought it would be. The delivery was extremely fast. Read More...
