Frigidaire 131525500 Rear Outer Tub Assembly (Shell) OEM Part

Replaced outer tub assembly shell. AppliancePartsPros Video was outstanding and easy to follow. Removed outer shell prior to ordering replacement. Took about 2-3 hours off and on (ie. washer and dryer were stacked and I was working in a confined space). A lot of time was spent in cleaning up the washer, spyder etc. prior to installation. Washer originally purched December 1997 so it had accumulated lots of dust, dirt, lint. Ordered shell Jan 9th 5:27AM and received it Jan 10th 2:30PM. (For $6.95 Shipping!) Only major dificulty was installing the end of the soap despenser hose in to its housing. Had to use lots of WD-40 and manipulate with screwdriver and finger. All other mechanical parts seemed to be in good condition. Repair cost approximately $270 vs repalcement at $1,000 to $2,000 if both washer and dryer replaced (only room for stackable system).

At first I hesitated to attempt to repair the machine but after checking the prices on new machines and watching the video on how to replace the rear half of the outer tub I went for it! Approximately $250 for the part and delivery, it was here in less than 2 days, and I put it in without a snag. I'll be the first to admit that I am very mechanically minded and handy with my hands and have a full complement of mechanics tools but I wouldn't have attempted it without the excellent video. The part fit exactly as it should and within a couple of hours the machine was purring. I love it!

Replaced the outer rear tub assembly. The video was a great help in both dissasmbly and assembly. The drum is REALLY heavy... get someone to help. My inner bearing and seal were stuck to the shaft so I had to get a 6" bearing puller to remove. Cleaned up the light rust on the shaft with 600 w/d paper.
