Barry B North Charleston , SC August 08, 2015 Appliance: Model FRIGADAIRE DUAL FUEL RANGE 389ECF. Gas regulator valve was bad My gas & Carbon Monoxide alarm went off at 6:30 am a couple of Saturday's ago. Had to call fire dept. and gas company. Gas company found a leak in the area of my gas cooktop. They turned off gas and locked the meter. Found the leak & fixed, but while running pressure test on the line, found a leak at the shutoff valve on water heater. Fixed that, called gas company. They checked out everything & turned gas back on. They turned all pilots back on but couldn't get cooktop to light. Said I put too much air pressure on system while trying to find leak and probably blew out the diaphragm in the regulator. Said I should always disconnect appliance when running a pressure check to find leaks. Live & learn. Ordered cheap regulator on eBay, wrong valve, would not take back. Finally ordered correct valve from Appliance Pros ( local parts house more expensive and said it would take a week to get). Right valve arrived in a couple of days, easy bolt on fix. Everything fine now. We are the Griswalds. Appliance Pros....fair price, fast service, they saved the day.
