Description

This evaporator temperature sensor monitors coil temperature so your refrigerator can control cooling and defrost cycles more accurately. Replacing a failed sensor restores proper temperature sensing and helps prevent overcooling or missed defrosts. What it does:

• Measures evaporator/coil temperature so the control board can regulate cooling and defrost timing
• Can cause warm refrigerator/freezer compartments or long run cycles when faulty
• May lead to frost buildup or failed defrosts if the control can't read coil temperature
• Works as a low-voltage thermistor input to the appliance control

Install notes:

• Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing
• Located near or on the evaporator coil; handle the sensor and wiring gently
