Lisa I Cocoa , FL December 13, 2015 Appliance: Frigidaire Frigidaire/Electric Dryer GLER341AS2 Knob broke on dryer started using pliers to turn it on eventually the stem broke off the start switch Got the model number off the dryer. Looked it up online. I wanted name brand replacement part. Found this wonderful AppliancePartsPros.com. Looked up my model number, went to top control panel section, ordered the Start Switch. In ONE DAY I received it. Removed the back part of my dryer. Easily removed the broken part. (I did watch a video online). Put on the new Start Switch. Instead of ordering a new knob. I removed a knob from the dryer that I don't use. It turns a buzzer on or off to let you know the dryer has stopped. Since I always keep it turned off anyway. I thought I'll use it for the replacement. Otherwise, I could have also ordered a new knob from AppliancePastsPros.com. I am so proud of myself. So for about $25.00 total I fixed it myself. Elizabeth G Elmwood , IL January 20, 2019 The start switch broke off A friend of mine borrowed my dryer a few years ago and broke off the knob that is used to start the dryer. So, I had been using a pair of pliers to start the dryer, until the pliers broke the switch knob right off. I put off even looking into the replacement parts because I was afraid of the cost. My dryer is 17 years old. Well, I finally looked and low and behold, the cost was MINIMAL!! Less than $30 for a new switch and a new knob! They arrived, and with the help of the handy dandy video on the website, the new switch was replaced and the dryer was up and running again in less than 5 minutes! SO EASY!!! Thank you so much for everything!!! Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
