Sherry N Saint Cloud , FL August 06, 2020 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator FRS26R4AQ7 Both freezer & fresh food were warming ice cream soft a month or more; finally all ice melted Thanking APP ahead of time for expedient 1 day express parts & videos! I kept a LOG on this repair fix starting 6/21/20: started with cleaning out behind the Frigidaire /coils, fan blade, floor, walls, toe-plate, compressor. #1 Replaced just the Run Capacitor [from my local appl store]. Somewhat better but not a fix. Fridge controls need much higher settings than Factory Settings - which is recommended. Did some homework on several sites /kept coming back to yours / saw what parts are probably the culprits & ordered both #2 #3 from APP-rec'd 1 day! #2 Defrost thermostat replaced. Only "good" for 2/3 days max - goes into auto-defrost & loses the cold in both sides again. Should have done both parts while panel was down but the fan was working okay, cooling & those wires & your video did not jive, really confusing. #3 Evaporator Motor Fan - Finally installed: Better Now its Cooler! Was afraid to install / thought wrong part / watched your video a dozen times to see what wires to cut & splice / called to chat---no help so just vidioed some more. Then got warmish again so not the REAL culprit. So more homework. Then ordered #4 Start Relay & Run Capacitor / yes, they are a connected 'kit'. Should have done those two at the same time too. Live & learn. Did an EXTRA cleanup on the Coils & Condenser fan. It took me about a month to figure it all out but these 4 parts have everything to do with COLD in both sides of Frigidaire model, 14 years old & its humming along. Nothing was ever wrong with ice-maker or water & I change out the filter often. 7/31 marks 3 weeks running great! $100.vs $1000, is fine! Only difficult because there are always a plan'b' to take care of first. So then my confidence soared & I tackled my dryer replacing a thermal fuse. Michael G Jonesboro , IN October 17, 2014 Compressor not running We woke up one morning to discover that our fridge was not running as it should be. Fridge dude was somewhat cold but everything in the freezer was lost. I pulled the fridge away from the way wall and the first thing I noticed was that the condenser fan was not running. Well after a good cleaning it started going again but the fridge was still not cool. I kept hearing a click sound. It would go 2-3 minutes then click then 12 seconds then click again. At this time I seen the coils were very dusty and the compressor was warm to the touch so I cleaned the coils thinking that if they were working better maybe the compressor would run cooler and then the overload would stop going off but, that didn't get it. So I did a continuity test on the compressor and it passed so that was a bit of relief knowing that the compressor wasn't toast. So that left either the start relay or the overload. Since there both not expensive I ordered them both. 1 day later my items showed up. New, clean and nicely packaged I was hopeful this was the fix. I installed the relays and plugged in the fridge and was greeted with the awesome sound of the compressor running as it should. I have never repaired a refrigerator before but thanks to the help of this site for there quick shipping and quality componets I was able to do it. Donald B Sanford , FL January 20, 2015 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator FRS26R4AW7 Refrigerator/freezer stopped cooling compressor not running Googled the problem, found Appliance Pro's website with descriptions on what to look for and realized the problem must be either the Start Relay or the Capacitor. I ordered both, and although I didn't try and determine which part in particular was actually bad I just replaced both, and it has worked perfectly since then. The only thing I recommend is the included instructions should be printed out in color, because it shows the red and blue start and run wires that plug into the relay and you can only tell on a color print out which is supposed to be crimped to which on the adapter plug.
