Thermal mastic is a heat-conductive compound that improves thermal contact between temperature sensors/thermostats and appliance surfaces, helping sensors read more accurately for more consistent cooling and defrost performance. What it does:

• Creates a thermal bridge between sensors or thermostats and the surface they monitor to improve temperature sensing accuracy.
• Helps reduce symptoms caused by poor sensor contact, such as inaccurate temperature readings, intermittent cooling, or erratic defrost cycles.
• Applies as a thin, conforming layer to fill gaps and improve heat transfer without changing sensor placement.

What's included: One 1 oz tube of thermal mastic. Install notes:

• Disconnect power to the appliance before service.
• Clean and dry mating surfaces before applying a thin, even layer of mastic.
• Press the sensor or thermostat into the mastic so it contacts the surface; wipe away any excess.
• Avoid contact with eyes/skin, keep away from food-contact surfaces, and follow all OEM safety instructions.
